Not surprised! At the turnoff from the Bettelwurf crossing to the small Bettelwurf, you don't initially follow the apparently logical path along the ridge, but descend a few meters to the left. Pay attention to the markings!

At 2,650 m, the Kleiner Bettelwurf is only 75 m lower than its larger counterpart, but offers no less fantastic views of the Inn Valley and the Karwendel. The large summit cross may mark the highest point, but the actual summit of the Kleiner Bettelwurf is a little further to the east and is only marked with a simple little cross.

The small begging throw is not a suitable destination for pure hikers. The begging throw crossing (where the small begging throw is located) is considered a via ferrata with difficulties up to C/D.
If you are out and about without a climbing harness, we recommend the largest begging throw. There is also a steel cable hanging on the Eisengattergrat to the large beggar throw. Experienced alpine hikers will only use it as a handrail in alpine walking terrain (A/B).
