Hiking

During the First World War, the high plateau on the border between Italy and Austria-Hungary was strategically important. The southern peak housed the Italian positions, and the northern peak housed the Austro-Hungarian positions, featuring trenches, bunkers, observation posts, and tunnels, some with narrow-gauge railway tracks for supply lines. Today, the plateau is an open-air museum, with a circular trail that allows visitors to explore the historic positions and experience the front lines and the extreme conditions faced by the soldiers.
