The Plaza del Marqués de San Esteban is a crossroads within the city itself. Nestled at the base of the old neighborhood of Cimavilla, it is a crossing point between the Poniente and San Lorenzo beaches. From here you can access the port of Gijón and the main square, with its many cider houses. In the same square you can breathe the antiquity of the Cimavilla fishermen's quarter and the Revillagigedo palace and the modernity of the marina.

The Plaza del Marqués de San Esteban is a beautiful square that opens on the dock of the port of Gijón, in the neighborhood of Cimadevilla and receives this name for the Palace of the Marquis, today called Palacio de Revillagigedo.
The Palace of the Marquis was built between 1704 and 1721 by the first Marquis of San Esteban del Mar, passing into the hands of the Counts of Revillagigedo in 1899. It is one of the great baroque buildings of Asturias and one of the most important buildings in the Plaza del Marqués de Gijón. Next to the Revillagigedo Palace is the Collegiate Church of San Juan Bautista, also from the eighteenth century, and which is used for temporary exhibitions.
