Hiking
The Gerstenbach rises west of Großbraunshain, a district of Schmölln, flows through the communities of Starkenberg, Monstab, Lödla and Rositz, then through the northern part of Altenburg and the communities of Gerstenberg and Treben. It flows into the Pleiße about 25 kilometers west of the Treben district of Serbitz.
