5. Fords and waters
Streams and rivers are obstacles between two places that can be overcome either by complex bridge structures or in particularly shallow places. Such
Shallow places are known as fords and have long been important points in the landscape. As I said, they were formed in shallow places in the water with flat banks.
Pedestrians and teams could cross here. On larger bodies of water, fords were preferred locations for city foundations (Beiseförth, Frankfurt). At the Beise ford, which was restored by the municipality of Knüllwald in 2011, a water playground (see point 6) invites you to splash around.

6. The water playground
offers children of all ages leisure activities of a cool, lively kind, especially on warm summer days. While the children have fun exploring and discovering the element of water to their heart's content, benches invite parents to relax in idyllic nature.
