Due to the increasing number of parishioners, e.g. due to the merger with Liebenburg, the old church building became too small in the 19th century, so that a new building of the nave became necessary. The ceremonial inauguration of the neo-Gothic building took place in November 1863.
On the other side you can admire the imposing vicarage, in whose former barn the cultural association "Lewer Däle e.V." has been based since 2009.
