The first bridge from the European mainland (Jutland peninsula) to the first Danish island of Funen with the town of Middelfart is the “Little Belt Bridge” (Danish: Lillebæltsbro). There are two bridges with the same name, two kilometers apart. The Old Little Belt Bridge from 1935 and the New Little Belt Bridge from 1970. Both are toll-free. Ferry bikes and pedestrians are only allowed to use the old bridge.
