The fountain on the central town hall square was built as a "monument to the unchanging gratitude of the citizens of Reichenhall towards the ancient, ancestral house of the Wittelsbach family". The design by the Munich sculptor Karl Killer (1873-1948) was executed in Ochsenfurt shell limestone. The octagonal pool has a diameter of 7 meters and a total height of 11 meters.
