Busy bicycle street with bicycle underpasses under the Rozemarijnbrug and the Contributiebrug. The route is part of the 'Fietsas Coupure-Groendreef-Trekweg', simply 'Fietsas Coupure'. Bicycle traffic on this axis does not have to stop anywhere at traffic lights or give way (except at some zebra crossings).

The Coupure is one and a half kilometers long and is the busiest bicycle axis in Ghent. Especially during the morning rush hour, it is teeming with cyclists. On the busiest days, more than 10,000 bicycle passages are counted, with peaks of one cyclist every two seconds.

The former cycle path along the water had become too narrow for the busy cycle traffic in two directions. That path is now a hiking trail. Only children up to the age of 9 are allowed to cycle on that path.
