The 590 meter high Eagle Rock is one of the landmarks of Madeira. Its rock face, which drops steeply towards the Atlantic, is one of the most impressive cliffs on the island. Ospreys used to nest here - that's where the name comes from. The climb to Eagle Rock is quite strenuous. You have to climb over 400 meters in altitude on 3.2 km of narrow mountain paths, but it's worth it.
