From here you follow the St. Francis Way downhill to Abbadia di Piazza, where you continue on a street lined with impressive oak trees. Then there is a long section in the sun on asphalt to the new “Fonte del pellegrino”, a pilgrim spring donated by the municipality of Rione del Piano and the Diocese of Gubbio. Arriving in Gubbio is a reward for all the effort, not only because of the beauty of the place but also because of the town's strong ties with Francis.
