From here you have a good view over the Hirschbachtal.
The Hirschbacher tower itself was built in 1905 by local bronze manufacturer Harry Cohn as a new landmark of the place on the Hirschberg (Hammerleite).
The tower is not public but is owned by the Nuremberg hiking and climbing club Kestrel e.V. On the four floors it offers sleeping facilities as in a simple mountain hut. However, there is no running water and electricity
