Bastei Viewpoint (Zankelstein), Pommelsbrunn

The bastion of Pommelsbrunn or Zankelstein is a rock group near Pommelsbrunn in the central Franconian district of Nürnberger Land, in the federal state of Bavaria in Germany. It is designated as geotope 574R012 and natural monument.

On the south and southeast side of the Zankelstein, three rock towers rise out of the forest, serving as popular lookout cliffs.

The entire mountain range from the Bastei over the Zankelstein further east is absolutely worth a trip. You can actually only get to the benches with a bit of agility. It is very beautiful up there in autumn too.
