From the small, sleepy village Biesenbrow comes the writer Ehm Welk, author of the famous book 'The Gentiles of Kummerow'. Anyone familiar with the book will soon discover that Ehm Welk has set a literary memorial to his own home village in Kummerow. In the old schoolhouse, where also the little Ehm Welk pushed the school desk, is today a small exhibition.
