Don't miss this special heritage on your route!

The Sint-Petruskerk van Eestrum is one of the medieval churches that can be found in Friesland. It is a well-preserved 13th-century church built of red brick in the Romanesque style. The church is complete and intact and therefore very special.

Originally it was a Catholic church dedicated to Saint Peter, but after the Reformation all holy images and painted walls were removed at once and it became a Protestant church.

This beautiful church was on the route of a FLAL walking tour. It was quite foggy this day, in other words, it was a small world.

Planning ahead is recommended if relying on public transport.

What are the best times of year for walks near Sint-Petruskerk Eestrum, considering weather and crowds?

While the church is a wonderful destination year-round, the spring and summer months (April to September) generally offer the most pleasant weather for walking, with milder temperatures and longer daylight hours.
