In 1551/52, the first building of the historic town hall in Wemding was replaced by the present one, thus gaining more space for the dealers and the market operation.
The stately renaissance building is adorned by a towering, crenellated stepped gable with resting stone balls. On the steep roof is a diagonally mounted ridge turret with a pointed helmet, which holds the Armsünderglöckchen (jurisdiction).

The two-winged entrance gate shows numerous carvings, as well as the coat of arms of Bavaria and Wemding. The arched arches on the west side once separated the arcade for the traders and led to the former Schranne on the ground floor.

Just as lovingly kept in shot as all other buildings around the market square shines the historic town hall.

In 1551/52 the first building was replaced by the current one in order to gain more space for dealers and the market.
The stately Renaissance building is adorned by a towering, crenellated stair gable with stone balls on top. On the steep roof there is a diagonally mounted roof rider with a pointed helmet that hides the bell-mouth bell (jurisdiction).
The two-leafed entrance gate shows numerous carvings, as well as the coat of arms of Bavaria and Wemding. The arcades on the west side once delimited the arcade for the traders and led to the former Schranne on the ground floor.
Today there are conference and event rooms in the building, a ballroom on the 1st floor and the meeting room of the City Council on the 2nd floor. The youth and city chapel Wemding is located on the ground floor. (Source: wemding.de/sehens worth/historisches_rathaus-1542/)
