A huge construction site all around. There are containers right in front of the lighthouse, it seems that not much has happened on the tower yet. The new buildings behind it, on the other hand, are growing rapidly.

At the moment, the view of the tower is not that great, you can hardly get a good photo angle without the construction fence, containers, construction vehicles or the like obstructing the view/“destroying” the picture.

Fehmarn's first lighthouse on the north-east corner of the island was named "Marienlampe" in honor of the Danish Queen Marie Sophie Frederikke. On October 28, 1832, the Queen was personally present at the inauguration. Since it was not possible to raise the tower due to the poor structural condition, a slim 33 m high reinforced concrete lighthouse was erected north of the old tower in 1964.
