An old map from 1797 already shows the symbol for the waterwheel on the Weißbach stream. The first purchase agreement in the Vorarlberg State Archives dates from 1881 and mentions that the seller and his ancestors had owned the sawmill for over 40 years. The sawmill is already marked on the Franziscean Cadastre of 1857, and it is also shown as a separate parcel of land. The old foundations of the sawmill can still be seen at this location. Over time, the sawmill's capacity became insufficient. To increase its output, the sawmill was moved approximately 50 meters downstream.
