The old water tower in Bogense was built in 1910 when the city got its waterworks. The tower was originally supposed to be built in the middle of the city's market square, but thanks to the protests of the people of Bogense it was given its current location.

The water tower, which stands proudly in the city center, has always been used as a lookout tower. The platform at the top of the tower offers residents and visitors a wonderful view of the city and a unique view of the Little Belt towards Jutland and - last but not least - Æbelø.
