There is also a lovely beer garden called "Alte Bank" on the square west of the church. The Catholic city church was planned by Friedrich Weinbrenner. He is responsible for many buildings in Karlsruhe. The interior is unexpectedly modern. You shouldn't miss it. A place of silence in the middle of the city. The Marienbrunnen north (behind) the church of St. Stephan by Emli Wachter is also worth seeing. Emil Wachter (* April 29, 1921 in Neuburgweier; † January 12, 2012 in Karlsruhe) was a German visual artist. It says so in Wikipedia: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emil_WachterHis motorway church near Baden-Baden is very well known, where his daughter continued and expanded the work. A son of Karlsruhe, he immortalized himself here. His concrete art can also be admired in the Waldstadt Karlsruhe, for example.
