Tempio Pausania (Sardinia)

Tempio Pausania (Gallurese: Tempiu) is one of the capitals of the province of Nord-Est Sardegna in north-eastern Sardinia. The city is the seat of the bishop and the court.

Characteristics of the historical center of Tempio Pausania are the medieval streets, the religious buildings and the palaces built in blocks of granite (with strong resemblance to the cities of southern Corsica), which is why it has earned it the name of "city of stone".
The territory is also famous for its vineyards, which offer fine export wines such as Vermentino and Moscato. Tempio Pausania is also renowned for its thermal springs and for the Rinaggiu springs at the foot of Mount Limbara: oligomineral water flows from them, with excellent healing properties.
