At this beautiful vantage point, lighting is installed at Christmas and Easter, which can be seen far into the Sieg Valley. The "SchieferErzEisen" path leads via a wayside cross at a rock formation along the boulder tunnel and the Ecker Grundstollen back to the Siegufer.

"The Hohe Ley rock group is a popular point for hikers and walkers on the left side of the Sieg above Mudersbach with an excellent view of the Sieg valley. In 2004 the first statue of the Virgin Mary from the opposite side of the Sieg was attached here.

The striking group of rocks is on the left side of the Sieg, 365 m above sea level. in the Mudersbacher Haubeberg, in the district of Mudersbach. Pillow-shaped bulges around the mountain cross indicate submarine volcanoes. The rock group was placed under nature protection together with the Birker Ley on August 13th, 1986. It is reported that a Mudersbach innkeeper erected a cross on the mountaintop in 1915. It had become customary to hoist an Easter flag there on the feast of the Lord's resurrection on Good Friday. Around 1955, the “Zur Linde” regulars’ table took over the care and maintenance of the cross and the complex in the Felsenmeer. In 1981 a plaque was placed on the cross for Sister Edmundine, who died in 1973. She worked tirelessly for old and sick people and made a valuable contribution to the construction of the first old people's home, “Sankt Josef”. The text reads: "Because she was always ready, this cross is dedicated to her. Sister Edmundine 1897 - 1973." During Easter, the Stammtisch zur Linde installs an illuminated cross and at Christmastime a star with a tail, which is mounted on the heap below the Ley. In 2004 the first statue of Mary from the Mariengrotte, from the regulars' table to the lime tree, was placed on the Hohe Ley and invites you to linger in the beautiful natural surroundings. From the Hohe Ley or the heap below, on the XS hiking trail (Sieghöhenweg) and M3, you can enjoy a wonderful view over Mudersbach and the Siegtal."

A worthwhile detour from the SchieferErzEisenweg.
