The bronze figural group "Swine herd and his flock" has nothing to do with fairy tales.
The following information can be found on Wikipedia:The swineherd and his herd is a bronze group of figures in Bremen-Mitte at the end of Sögestraße near Am Wall and Herdentorsteinweg streets. It was erected in 1974 and is included in the list of monuments and statues of the city of Bremen. The monument, consisting of the swineherd, his dog and his herd with five pigs and four piglets, was made of bronze in 1974 based on a design by the Bremen sculptor Peter Lehmann (1921-1995). The very popular group of sculptures was financed by the merchants of Sögestrasse. It stands for the origin of the name Sögestraße: Today's pedestrian zone Sögestraße was known as Soghestrate (Low German for sows) in the Middle Ages, the street where many pigsties probably stood. At that time the shepherds drove the pigs from here through the herd gate in the Bremen city wall to the Bürgerweide, a common area (communal property) in front of the city.Today, children and young people like to ride the bronze pigs. In addition, it also became a habit to meet "at the pigs'."The sculptor Lehmann also created the stone sea lion group from 1964 in the Neue Vahr in Bremen
