Schlachte is the name given to the historic waterfront on the Weser in Bremen's Old Town. In the official sense, the Schlachte is a parallel to the shore road, which begins at the corner of First battle gate (at the St. Martini Church) and about 660 meters further northwest ends at the Youth Hostel Bremen (House of Youth), corner Kalkstraße. The Schlachte, originally the port of Bremen, has today become the gastronomy and beer garden mile.
