Great viewing point of the Bennerley viaduct situated on the side of the Nottingham canal. The viaduct once carried the Great Northern railway between Nottingham Victoria and Derby Friar Gate. Now one of only 2 wrought iron viaducts in England with long term plans to restore the structure and to link it into the cycle network. Whilst no official access to the viaduct, many people climb the embankments at each end and walk across the structure. Not possible to take a bike across (unless you carry it the whole way). The restoration plans have stalled due to lack of funds. More information at friendsofbennerleyviaduct.wordpress.com

Grade 2 listed Iron Viaduct stretching across the Erewash Valley. Work is due to start on restoration in the spring of 2019 with the aim of eventually bringing the deck into use for walkers and cyclists.

Significant maintenance and restoration work has now taken place on the viaduct. Both the east and west ends of the viaduct have received significant attention with a brand new accessible ramp being installed at the west (Derbyshire) end. It is anticipated that the installation of the decking will be completed around the end of autumn 2021.
