The Hulksbrug is a moveable drawbridge. The name probably derives from a former nearby bridge near the then "Herberghe De Hulck". The name Hulck probably comes from Cornelis Sijmons Hulck, whose name was mentioned in a document from 1648 about the renewal and maintenance of the bridge.

The current bridge dates from 1986 and connects the Hoogstraat with the Raadhuisplein and crosses the Angstel. The bridge operates daily in summer and is free to use. Outside the operating hours, a red button must be pressed for operation, whereby the waiting time can be up to half an hour. In winter, the bridge is only operated on weekdays during the day on request and not on weekends and in the evenings.
