List on Sylt is the northernmost municipality in Germany. The place is surrounded by a landscape of shifting dunes, heath and salt marshes. This landscape, also known as Listland, has been privately owned for centuries by a community of heirs that emerged from the two staven places of the village, the Osthof and the Westhof.
From the dike you have a very nice view of List, the "Listland" and the King's Bay. On a clear day you can also see the Danish island of Rømø.translated by
