The bridge was opened in September 2020 and was excellently designed for cyclists. The ascent and descent on the Slovakian side was very successful. There is also a beautiful cycle path on the Hungarian side.

two countries one river.
On the Slovakian side of the Danube, some of the paths are not paved and you have to cover around 20 kilometers of the 56-kilometer stage on roads. In Komárno you cross the Vah river (where it flows into the Danube) on a bridge. Here it is advisable to stay on the only moderately paved and temporarily difficult cycle path on the Danube embankment, because this way you will pass the important archaeological site of Kelemantia, an ancient Roman military camp that once had an impressive fortification with numerous towers and gates decreed. The cycle path ends soon after. Now you have to cover a few kilometers to Moča on the road. Between Patince and Žitava there is another short stretch (6km) of cycle path on the Danube embankment, so you can save yourself some federal road. At Patince (or Patince Kupele), a popular thermal water lake invites you to stop for a swim.
