Komárno is located in southern Slovakia at the confluence of the Váh and Danube. The Hungarian city on the other hand is Komárom, which is also a sister city. The Elizabeth Bridge, opened in 1892, leads there, as well as the railway bridge on the Nové Zámky–Komárom railway line. Three kilometers west of the old town is the new Monostor Bridge, which was opened to traffic on September 17, 2020.
