About three kilometers south of the lake runs the Mirower Canal, the northwestern part of the Müritz-Havel Waterway (MHW), and connects the Müritz with the lakes in the Mirow area. The Mirower canal replaced the Alte Fahrt or the old Müritz-Havel waterway, which flows from the north into the Granzow Möschen.
