In 1888, the excursion restaurant Müggelschlößchen was built here on the Spree Tunnel, which at that time did not exist. In 1911, the huge terrace area provided space for nearly 5,000 visitors. In 1927 the Spree Tunnel was built next door, replacing an existing, completely overloaded ferry, which translated restaurant visitors and beer kegs from the Friedrichshagen brewery. In 1945, the restaurant was destroyed by fire. A small snack provided until the seventies, the passing hikers. Only a few stairs and terrace fortifications of the approximately 11,000 square meter site remained.
