Lieropse Heide

The sun is already burning in the morning, so we set out for the heath with a good supply of drinks. In the Lieropschen Heide we walk on right-angled, dead straight, but as if to contradict, wonderfully wild forest-meadow farm paths; still cool in the shade of the pines.
The sparse birch shelters, which soon take us in behind fences, are already sunnier and give us a foretaste of the heat to be expected in the open landscape of the Strabrechts Heath, which we only touch to the east; but have a feeling that not much will change further west in the heather.
Impressive width; Erika, the heather blooms delicately purple; the impression of the relative absence of insects is deceptive, if we stoop down into the pagan microcosm, like this
it hums and buzzes quite powerfully - near the ground.

The Lieropse Heide, together with the Strabrechtse Heide, forms the largest contiguous heathland area in North Brabant
