Eduard Birkner bequeathed the village to Emperor Wilhelm II, who became his property on December 15, 1898. Emperor Wilhelm ordered the construction of an imperial summer residence in Kadyny.

The acquisition of Kadyn by the emperor resulted in a great development of the village. The new owner ordered the reconstruction of the property and the construction of a new village according to the designs of Berlin architects in the so-called Ordensstil (from German, monastic style).

In the years 1902–1905 a school was built.

At the emperor's order, in 1905 a ceramic factory was established in the village, specializing in the production of majolica for the needs of the court. It was also used to make ceramic ornaments on the Royal Route in Gdańsk, and Kadyński products were appreciated in the country and abroad. After World War I, production was expanded and commercial in nature. Large clay deposits contributed to the creation of a brickyard.

From 1937 to 1944, the grandson of Wilhelm II, Fr. Ludwik Ferdynand with his large family.
