Kadyny (German: Kadinen / Cadinen) - a village in Poland, situated in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in Elbląg County, in the Tolkmicko commune.

According to legend, the name of the town comes from the name of the Prussian princess Kadyna - the alleged founder of Kadyny. The name of Kadyna is confirmed only in the legend, but it is known that the Teutonic Knights took it over from the Prussians.

On the hills of the Elbląg Upland in medieval times there was a stronghold of the Old Prussian tribe of Pogezanians, which was conquered by the Teutonic Knights. Near the ruins of the stronghold, the order founded the village of Kadyny, because the strategic location of the stronghold and the beauty of the area were appreciated. The first mention of the village comes from 1255. Kadyny was the seat of the bailiff's office, and later the forest district, which was subordinate to the Elbląg commander. There was a Teutonic manor farm and a hunting lodge here. The defensive Teutonic court was built in the 13th century.
