The monastery pond was originally created in the 18th century by the St. Blasien monastery, but today it belongs to the monastery pond courtyard.
The pond and its banks are habitat for a number of protected plants and small organisms, and spawning grounds for numerous frogs and toads. For example, the north-western part is in the Friedrich-August-Grube nature reserve. Sundew and other ornaments can be found on the meadow.
Bathing is tolerated, provided that consideration is given to the rare flora and fauna.
The Klosterweiherhof itself is recommended for a stop. Nice beer garden and friendly team.

Have other rare water plants - orchids besides lotus flowers? beholds. The lake is private, but it is tolerated to linger there for a break or even a swim stop.

Very nice photo motif, especially the reflections of the colorful autumn forest on the smooth surface of the water do it to me.

According to tradition, the monastery pond was created as a fish pond for the monastery of St. Blasien. It is a popular destination, especially because of the neighboring Landgasthof Klosterweiherhof with its spacious lakeside terrace.
