Were Stob a' Choire Liath Mhòr further removed from its parent Munro, it would be a much more remarked upon summit. However, it plays second fiddle to the huge quartzite dome of Spidean a' Choire Leith, Liathach's loftiest peak.

Despite being 3,225 feet (983 m) tall, its proximity to the nearby Munro means it has to settle for being a mere 'top', making it a less sought-after objective. What it does have going for it are remarkable views across the magical Torridonian landscape.
