The "Green Brink" on Fehmarn has been under nature protection since 1938. The area (134 ha) is on the north coast of Fehmarn, three kilometers west of the Puttgarden ferry station. Today it extends 2.5 km along the coast to the Niobe Monument and in width from the top of the dike up to 150 m into the Baltic Sea.
