a "Pearl of the Wendland" whose older east part from the 15th century is a brick construction, while the west part is half-timbered from the 17th century

"The small village south of Lüchow (parished there), which bears the name of the main river of the Wendland, is possibly its oldest place, if it can be proved that it really is identical with the trading place Schezla of a Carolingian capitular of 805. Mithoff opined ( 1877), Jeetzel has 'a chapel without oddities'; the local literature, on the other hand, describes it as the 'Pearl of the Wendland', which we are happy to agree with.

The little church can be clearly distinguished into three parts; in the east the brick building of the choir on a fieldstone base, provided with high niches on the inside; half-timbering with brick lining in the middle; to the west, the magnificent wooden tower made of hand-sawn oak boards, flanked by an old linden tree. The interior, with a wooden ceiling, galleries to the west and north, is decorated primarily by the altar with a rural attachment from the 18th century, a crucifixion surrounded by angels, the Risen Christ above, and a Last Supper in the predella. Now with amateur repainting from 1976! Names and dates between 1786 and 1797 carved into the wood on the back. Unfortunately, the pulpit belonging to the altar was replaced by a new one 20 years ago. An early bronze bell 'around 1300' in the entablature of the tower. A tombstone from 1741, which once lay in front of the altar, fills the older pointed-arched entrance; outside on the north side the tombstones of the former preacher from Lüchow and superintendent from Gartow Ernst August Pott (1747 to 1829) and his wife, who loved the place very much."

If you drive into the street "Im Anger", you will come to the oval ring of the village of Jeetzel.

The small chapel in Jeetzel consists of three parts: the wooden tower, which was built in the 16th century, the half-timbered central part dates from the 17th century and the 15th-century brick chancel, which rests on a fieldstone base was erected, which presumably stems from an older predecessor building.
