This pretty little castle is also known as Kasteeldomein van Beerlegem and is still inhabited by the noble family d'Ursel de Bousies. Unfortunately it is not open to the public.
The castle in Rococo-Baroque style was built around 1730 on the site of the former castle of the Lords of Beerlegem, which was first mentioned in 1096 under Count Diederik van Beerlegem. In front of the castle stands a cedar of Lebanon which, according to legend, Jan I of Burgundy brought back from the last crusade.
