The green elliptical tower, designed by Rob van Erk and Ab Veerbeek, was completed in 1986. Queen Beatrix reopened the complex under the name Beurs-World Trade Center. Until 2014 it was managed and operated by Beurs Rotterdam N.V. At the end of 2014, Bouwinvest Dutch Institutional Office Fund became owner. He renamed the complex World Trade Center Rotterdam.
