If you want to get to Hamburg “quickly” from Cuxhaven, you don’t have to go that far because the island of Neuwerk is only 10 - 12 kilometers away and still belongs to the administrative district of Hamburg Mitte. With only about 40 inhabitants, the population is very small and the family trees of the inhabitants reach far back into the history of the island.

On the 3.4 km² of the island with the highest elevation of 7 meters, agriculture was mainly practiced until the late 1960s, but today tourism is the main source of income. The green areas of the island are still used intensively because everything that cannot be cultivated yourself has to be transported here on the mud flats in a tractor trailer and that is not exactly the cheapest and fastest option.
Because this journey is only possible at low tide, and during storm surges or high ice levels, as in the Arctic winter of 2012, nothing works for days. For extreme emergencies, there is also a helicopter landing pad on the island, because in emergencies such as a life-threatening illness, you can hardly wait for better weather.

In reality, you are quite far from a reasonable "view of Neuwerk".
