It is a large complex that is in fairly good condition. The chamber and the capstones are almost complete. Most of the supporting stones are still in the ground. Numerous stones are missing from the border, but the extent can still be seen. The ten-bay chamber is oriented north-northwest-southeast. The access to the chamber is probably located under the middle, large capstone.
The Gossstein grave comes from the funnel beaker culture of the younger Neolithic.

About 100 meters further east is the large stone grave "Groß Berßen 2".
