The Capreton is the name of a drainage canal in the Bommelerwaard, which is over 6 km long.

The word capreton refers to a narrow quay along a stream. At one point there were three drainage canals next to each other: The Bommelse Wetering, the Bruchemse Wetering and the Gamerense Wetering. These were separated by capretons. These dikes were eventually dug away and a wide drainage canal was created that was named Capreton.

This Capreton has been designed since the 1970s as an ecological connecting zone between the De Lieskampen and Meidijkse Wielen areas.

In the current situation, the Bommelse Zuiderwetering ends at the Capreton, which runs in a westerly direction and ends via the Esmeer (a dead arm of the Maas) in the Afgedamde Maas, near Poederoijen.
