In the Kyffhäuser Nature Park, you can expect steppe-like landscapes, over 1,000 plant species, and even salt steppes. Over 40,000 cranes stop in the area every year. Along the certified Kyffhäuser Trail, you can also discover highlights such as the Kyffhäuser Memorial, the Barbarossa Cave, and the Panorama Museum. At the northern edge of the nature park is the Kelbra Reservoir, also known as the Kyffhäuser Sea. The lake is a popular destination for swimming and canoeing in summer. Hiking trails into the nature park also start here.
