A fantastic section of gravel riding. Please note that this section isn't really suitable for road bikes with road tyres. You'd ideally want a gravel bike with some bigger tyres or even a mountain bike.

Mountain bikers dream, but If your very careful can be done with skinny tires, (Specialized Sirrus Elite with Gatorskins 28s) you will have to walk for around 5 minutes on the, size of my fist, gravel section, then it returns to normal (ish) gravel trail, worth it for the ride as a whole, but I recommend fatter tires with tread.

Part of the Pennine Cycleway but, be warned, isn't a route you want to do on a heavily laden touring bike as the ground is more suited to a mountain bike. I got through okay on a gravel bike with panniers but it was excellent weather. Rainy weather may make the route a lot harder. Lovely views though.
