Thanks to the efforts of the St. Aldegund community and volunteer fire department, Heinrich Raulwing Square has been transformed into a festival site with a barbecue hut, a cooking hut, restrooms, a small stage, numerous benches and tables, and a large parking lot accessible via a gravel road. In addition to the rest area, the square offers a magnificent view of St. Aldegund and the Moselle River.

You can definitely rent it; it's a great place for it, and it even has its own spring.

"During the construction of a timber transport road, a vantage point was discovered on the slope of the Spießkopf with a view of the Moselle Valley from the Calmont and the Ellerer Höhe to the north, across the Hunsrück heights to the east, and to the Marienburg castle to the south, all the way to Briedel. The area was leveled, and a hut made of logs was built on it.
Heinrich Raulwing was a businessman from Bad Oeynhausen/Dehme and also came to our village through his brother-in-law Heinz Engeln, who often visited his war comrade Karl Hammes here in St. Aldegund. He then lived in the guesthouse run by our then mayor, Peter Justen.
The cultural trail "Rocks. Barrels. Timber Frames" necessarily includes a visit to the site."
