The Düssel is an approximately 40 kilometer long right tributary of the Rhine in North Rhine-Westphalia. It rises in Wülfrath-Blomrath on the city limits of Velbert-Neviges in the Mettmann district. After running through the cities of Wülfrath, Wuppertal, Mettmann, Haan and Erkrath, it flows into the Rhine in four branches in the city of Düsseldorf. The Düssel is the namesake for the Wülfrather district of Düssel and the Haus Düssel there, the city of Düsseldorf and its district of Düsseltal.
