Schwalefeld, surrounded by meadows, cornfields and endless forests, is located in the idyllic Aartal. A testament to days long past is the ring wall of the Schwalenburg, a mighty fortification, the origin of which is still a mystery today and which has puzzled many amateur archaeologists.
Thanks to the healthy healing climate and last but not least the friendliness of its residents, the town owes its status as a "mountain health resort". A new center was created a few years ago with the spa administration and the spa square with music pavilion in the center of town. Concerts and local festivals take place here during the summer months and, in addition to a number of other offers, contribute to the entertainment on vacation.
