The historic Varder Town Hall on the market square was completed in 1872.
It was a courthouse and prison for the city of Varde, but also housed the city's municipal administration. As a result of the development of society, the space in the town hall became too narrow.
From 1917 only the police authorities were still in the building. The community offices were housed in rented premises in the city.
In 1955 the police moved out and the building was taken over again by the municipality.

We had a great meal and a great drink at the small café by the town hall. The service was very friendly and polite; I highly recommend it.
