Strabatenza is an abandoned village on the Romagna side of the "National Park of the Casentinesi Forests, Monte Falterona and Campigna", located on a slope (680 meters above sea level) sloping towards the Bidente di Pietrapazza which forms a suggestive valley.

In 1951 it was a populous village that numbered 189 souls scattered across various farms and in the houses that formed the nucleus - "Sommo la Villa", "Villa di Fondo", "Mezzo la Villa" and "Villa" - gathered around the parish church entitled in S. Donato, rebuilt between 1947 and 1950.
In 1961 it still had 93 inhabitants: shortly thereafter none. During the exodus of the 1960s, the hamlet was expropriated by the state property and largely demolished with dynamite to obtain gravel for the belatedly opened roads: only the church with rectory, the school built in 1956, the cemetery and a house.
